Please join us in welcoming our Physician Assistant, Michelle Kirschbaum!!

Michelle is a native of Northwest Iowa and attended Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI for both her undergraduate as well as for her Physician Assistant education. Upon graduation, she moved to Colorado and has gained valuable experience working as a primary care provider in the Denver area.

Michelle is excited to join the Aspen Family Medicine team and serve the Green Valley Ranch community. She thoroughly enjoys the medical specialty of family practice and its concern for the total health care of the individual as well as the family. Primary care has allowed her to enjoy the individuality of every patient, as well as to help address the different needs and interests each person has at their varying ages and stages of life. Good healthcare encompasses caring, compassion, and competence which she strives for in everything she does. She loves getting to know her patients and their families, and watching them grow through the years.

Michelle has developed specific interests in health maintenance by helping patients form an interest in their own health through the use of preventative screenings and encouragement of a vigorous, healthy and well-balanced lifestyle and nutrition. Michelle constantly strives to unite her knowledge of the latest medical literature and professional guidelines with her patients’ individual preferences and beliefs, so that patients understand and are comfortable with any necessary testing and medications. She strives for open dialogue between patient and provider, believing that education and encouragement are as powerful as medications in promoting overall good health. Michelle believes in a collaborative relationship with patients, emphasizing continuity of care that reflects the changing needs of each individual. She feels it is a privilege to be present for some of the most personal moments in people’s lives, and she feels lucky to have the chance to help her patients through those times.

As a certified Physician Assistant, Michelle is able to perform physical exams, diagnose and treat illnesses, order and interpret tests, counsel on preventative health care, and write prescriptions. Her professional interests include, but are not limited to, pediatrics, women’s health, orthopedics, chronic disease management and mental health.
